Responsibilities

The Client Support Staff plays a crucial role in providing direct care services to children and adolescents in the foster home and in the community. They are responsible for teaching and modeling a variety of skills to children and adolescents while in our care. They provide a safe and nurturing environment, while managing the cleanliness and readiness of the living spaces, preparing meals, administering medication, and transporting youth to scheduled appointments.

 

  • Supervise children and adolescents in the dependency system.
  • Provide therapeutic activities one-on-one to children and adolescents.
  • Provide crisis management and de-escalation skills to children and adolescents with trauma and other mental health diagnoses.
  • Demonstrate and model positive behaviors (i.e., anger management skills, coping skills, and emotion regulation).
  • Teach children and adolescents independent living skills through a variety of experiential tasks and interventions.
  • Cook and serve meals to the children and adolescents in the program.
  • Clean rooms when children and adolescents leave and prepare them for future youth entering the program.
  • Grocery shop, do dishes, laundry, and other chores around the home.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for the majority of your work.
  • Transport children and adolescents to appointments and activities in your own vehicle. Must have your own vehicle with a valid driver’s license, registration, and car insurance.
  • Administer medications to children and adolescents.
  • Provide documentation within required time frames in Electronic Medical Record (i.e. Carelogic).
  • Must have ability to operate technological programs, such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office 365 emails, and other programs, as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working and/or interacting with children or adolescents in a professional or personal setting, preferred.
